Why Greek?

First established in 1877, the fraternity and sorority community at Johns Hopkins is comprised of over 1,000 students in 13 fraternities and 8 sororities. By joining a fraternity you are forming friendships that will last far longer than your undergraduate years. Greek life is an opportunity to acquire leadership skills, build important network connections, and contribute to your community and your school.

Hazing
Phi Kappa Psi Maryland Alpha as well as all other chapters of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity have a strict no-tolerance policy towards hazing. The Johns Hopkins University hazing policy can be viewed here. Phi Kappa Psi has also joined forces with other fraternities in a national campaign to end hazing by creating a Greek anti-hazing hotline: 1-888-NOT-HAZE (1-888-668-4293).

Other University Policies
Phi Kappa Psi abides by all JHU Inter-Fraternity Council policies. Rush is completely alcohol and drug-free. Phi Kappa Psi does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, or sexual orientation.
